As Rhinegiest continues to grow, their goal is to build off the work of peers, eliminating and diverting waste wherever possible while keeping a local focus. In addition to utilizing commingled recycling, Rhinegeist diverts several waste streams including but not limited to spent grain, plastic grain bags, aluminum cans, scrap metal, cardboard, LDPE film, Paktechs (plastic 4 and 6-pack can holders), and spent hops/yeast.

Rhinegeist tracks their waste, energy, and water usage to evaluate new sustainable opportunities. They also perform energy and waste audits to identify where they can improve their performance and push the boundaries of sustainability.
